Applied Posture Riding

An ideal and great little horse for a teenager or adult wanting a horse to go on with.
Easy to train, easy to ride, well established paces and basics. This little horse is quiet and not at all precious. He has been trained slowly and correctly.

He moves away from the pressure of the leg easily and willingly. He leg yields left and right, he is established turn on the fore hand, he reins back to aid.
His canter is improving all the time and with work but he is building up nicely along the back and top line.
He is still a little heavy on the forehand but comes off nicely to the leg.

He has been out to pony club a number times. No hassles at all
He has attended a jumping school, no spook or rushing, just enjoys it.
He has been to 4 shows with ribbons at each hacking and jumping.

He had won at 45cm 65cm and 70cm showjumping.
He was 3rd in his first prelim 1B dressage test
and
2nd in his first novice 2B dressage test.
He did first ODE at Moonta 79% in dressage clear showjumping clear xcountry but took time to go into the water.
He has been ridden by a number of riders including a 12yo girl at home.

He is best suited to a novice or better, who wants to take on a horse to continue his training in dressage and jumping.
I think he is best suited to jumping and dressage not hacking although very pretty he gets upset by horses coming up behind him.

This horse has great movement and very good elevation, a great temperament and very easy to have. No vices but still a bit immature for a 6yo.

Only to a home that will use him he is a lovely horse.

How To Sit The Canter Horse Riding

How to canter balanced on a horse

The canter is a 3 beat movement. The well balanced elevated canter is a beautiful pace to ride. As a rider you feel elegant skilled and wow ‘look at me’.

This is how it should feel
A rider without balance or stability will interfere with a horses natural rhythm. The horse will tighten his back, raise his head and lean on the bit “resist”.

To ride the canter well. A rider needs lower back flexibility, upper body strength endurance and deep core stability. The hamstrings need to keep the impulsion as the hands hold a gentle contact. The riders pelvis tilts forwards and
backwards as the horse rounds his back and then stretches into the next stride.

A rider can learn this movement out of the saddle by training movement and stability on a physio ball. The functionof core stability at the canter can be broken into stages and trained. A good rider needs a flexible lower back with movement through the pevlis and hips. The upper back is best kept upright, this takes good muscle strength and endurance from the holding muscles.

Applied Posture Riding teaches rider to ride. It does not teach you how to train a horse but ‘How to ride a Horse’. How to ride the canter is one specific exercise this prgram will teach you. The ball exercises are specific and will teach movement patterns you can practice. The how to canter exercises involve moving the ball in circles to gain mobility and core strength. The more often this is practiced the better a rider will become. The how to canter exercises on the horse are easy and give the rider that ah haaa  feeling.

I have had huge success with tis prgram Go to the website and read the testimonials you to can learn to canter and ride well.

Horse Riding Dressage…Learn How to Score More?

Riding Dressage Tests  with Skill

I am a dressage rider.I have been a consistent good scorer in all my tests. I know this is because i am able to ride with a good upright posture and strong clean aids. My horses are well trained forward moving and obedient.

How did I achieve this you ask?

I have spent many hours in the saddle and on my big physio ball developing my deep core muscles to achieve the results I have achieved. I didnt spend $100s on riding lessons I taught myself good posture and watched the top riders apply it.

Horse riding dressage competitions are stress full and always subjective in their judging. To score well a rider must ride well. A strong stable upright rider who is able to apply  consistent well defined aids will always score well.
A rider who is sloppy bent over and weak through the seat and legs will have a horse that resists and does not go on the bit.

Riding Dressage With Skill

This is easy with a strong deep core area and strong posture muscles. A rider with round shoulders and sitting forward in the saddle will not have strong deep seat. They will fiddle with the reins and have a leg wobble and poor contact. This leaves the horse to do his own thing mostly. The horse will either plod around or fight back. The picture is not good and stress levels rise.

Riding Dressage Made Easy

I teach core stability and I teach posture control. I teach this topics in my work as well as too my horse riding dressage pupils. The ability to hold the abdominals tight will stabilize the trunk. This allows the dressage rider to sit upright and stable. The application of aids is independent and easy. I teach these movement patterns  out of the saddle. Once learned they can be practiced over and over in the lounge room floor and become perfect.

Applying Movement Patterns to The Dressage Rider in the Saddle

If a dressage rider has been working at increasing their lower back and pelvic mobility on the ball then they will have more flexibility in the saddle. The ability to stay in the saddle and not bounce will be achieved. If the dressage rider has been learning and practicing pilates based movement patterns with some resistance then strength will be built up and tone will be good so the riding aids will come efficient and precise. This can only be done if taught properly though.

If you as a dressage rider want to ride your tests better and train your horse with precision and skill then look at the Applied Posture Riding program.
